Bank of America will be continuing its Museums on Us program in 2019. The program allows Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, and U.S. Trust credit and debit cardholders free access to over 200 institutions. What is Bank of America Museums on Us?
The Museums on Us program, which is entering its 22nd year, allows Bank of America, Merrill Lynch or U.S. Trust credit or debit cardholders one free general admission to over 200 institutions on the first full weekend of every month.
All you need to do is show up at one of the participating institutions on the first full weekend of the month, present active Bank of America, Merrill Lynch or U.S. Trust credit or debit card and a photo ID.
You will be issued a ticket just like a paid customer and you are free to explore for the entire day.
Free general admission is limited to the cardholder at participating institution. Therefore if you are going with a guest, your guest will also have to have their own Bank of America, Merrill Lynch or U.S. Trust credit or debit card or they will have to pay the general admission fee.
Children may be able to enter for free or at a discounted rate based on that institution’s policy. For parents accompanied by children, it’s best to call first to find out if they will be allowed in for free or you will have to pay.
A great workaround – if you plan to take advantage of this program a lot, is to get free additional debit or credit cards for your family (by adding your family members to your Bank of America, Merrill Lynch or U.S. Trust account).
Note that museum hours and participation varies. The promotion doesn’t include access to special exhibits, ticketed shows, or fundraising events.
The program isn’t only limited to museums; also participating are some:
- Zoos
- Aquariums
- Science Centers
- Gardens
- Cultural Centers
