A Thanksgiving event that started in 2013 – in the memory of Alajawan Brown, re-united many to share a warm Thanksgiving meal this year.

Every year the public is invited to a free Thanksgiving meal honoring Alajawan Brown.

He was a 12-year-old Skyway boy, who was shot in the back and killed when he got off a bus in 2010.

Bread of Life Mission Thanksgiving Dinner

They will serve a hot meal on Thanksgiving Day, including turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, bread rolls, and pie. They will provide water and soda for drinks.

There will be an optional chapel service available.

Bread of Life Mission will offer both a “big breakfast” and a Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. Breakfast is from 7 to 9 a.m., and dinner will be served from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday from its Pioneer Square location at 97 S. Main St.

Indoor seating will be provided, and organizers say they expect to serve between 300 to 400 meals. Some of the highlights will include turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, cranberry sauce and more.

All are welcome on Thanksgiving Day – Thursday, Nov. 23rd from 12pm-3pm – for this year’s annual Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner!

The delicious meal, created this year by Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes Catering’s Jr. Sous Chef, Zach Mosely, will include a traditional turkey dinner and all the trimmings, with desserts donated by the community.

No need to RSVP, just show up at Hall at Fauntleroy (9131 California Ave SW) on Thanksgiving Day between 12-3pm.

This event happens with the help of many wonderful volunteers. You can sign up to volunteer or bring a dessert on signup.com.

Gently used warm clothing, new blankets and socks, and dessert donations can be dropped off at Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes in Sodo (4101 Airport Way S) on weekdays between 9am-5pm, or at Hall at Fauntleroy on Thanksgiving Day, starting at 9am.
